The client brief was for a new sustainable office building 3 miles from Hassocks mainline station. The project is situated on a site with 3 sides facing open fields. The design encourages good natural ventilation that works in conjunction with the stack effect and high-level windows. The building is divided up into several different individual units. Each unit is self-contained, thus ensuring maximum individual control to reduce energy consumption by encouraging occupant responsibility.
Bike stores provide secure cycle parking with showers in every unit to encourage travel to work by bike. The project is a well lit, well-insulated building with a portion of the building's energy coming from renewable sources, making it an environmentally sustainable workplace.
