Located in a Sussex conservation area, the brief was to take this historic Edwardian building and create a contrasting style kitchen extension. The project used RIBA services 1-4, with the first two stages including a building survey, site visit, hand-drawn sketches, and 3D modelling. Stage three consisted of digitalising all documents, finalising the services and reports, before being submitted to the council in a detailed application. All regulation requirements were checked before being given a full building regulation approved package in the last stage.
The modern contemporary extension has been designed to enhance the existing building and provides a larger kitchen and dining space with a new ensuite bathroom on the second floor. External landscaping has been tied in with the new extension along with an internal refresh of the rest of the home.
