Wheatsheaf Lane, Cuckfield
This unusual plot had a rear garden that sloped up 4 metres from front to back thus cutting out light to the main house and creating an unusable and impractical space.
The solution to the problem was to extend out with a modernist box wide opening doors into an amphitheatre type rear Courtyard around which stairs wind to lift you up into the rear of the garden.
Internally the previous external wall of the house and internal walls were removed to create large open spaces within. Smooth finishes, white render, clear lines, grey slate are being used coupled with a rooflight to ensure light floods into the belly of the building.
