Ecotecture: environmental architecture
  • What is Sustainable Development? Ecotecture - Sussex architects

At Ecotecture, we understand Sustainable Architecture, and we have a good idea of where it is heading. Sustainable Development is a term coined to assess a projects environmental impact in planning policy terms. Our understanding keeps us at the cutting edge of the changes to government policy. Sustainability is very site specific, our projects page shows just how varied sustainable development can be.

  • What is a Passivhaus? Ecotecture - Sussex architects

One of the design strategies Ecotecture employs is the adoption of "Passivhaus Principles". Passivhaus is the German energy efficiency standard, which is gathering momentum in the UK. The standard delivers buildings which use roughly 15% of the energy required to heat and cool a typical home or any other building. Passivhaus is also a health and well-being standard, they have been proven to provide a safer and more comfortable environment to live in.
